Glen Nant NNR

Cloaked in a rich mixed woodland of oak, larch and hazel, Glen Nant supports a vast array of wildlife, including the Scottish wood ant. Links to the past and the Bonawe Iron Furnace are also visible through the lush lichen and mosses. Glen Nant is a National Nature Reserve, managed jointly with Scottish Natural Heritage. Glen Nant is a very special place, being a small remnant of the extensive native forests which once covered the Scottish Highlands.
