Historic Scotland is the country’s largest operator of heritage attractions, including Edinburgh Castle. This is an exciting opportunity for a high achieving Retail Professional to join the management team at Scotland’s premier visitor attraction.

The Retail Manager will report directly to the Executive Manager at Edinburgh Castle, with some key project work and objectives set by the Head of Retail within Historic Scotland.

You will manage the commercial development and quality of all aspects of Edinburgh Castle’s Retail Operations ensuring that a World Class Service is offered to over 1.2 million visitors. The post holder will be heavily focused on delivering very demanding sales targets and will be responsible for being a ‘visible’ hands on leader creating a strong, motivated, welcoming and dynamic customer focused culture within the Retail Team.

You will be one of four Duty Managers working a 5/7 rota covering weekends and evenings with a strong commitment to team work.

Essential requirements for this position - You will have a proven track record of success and management experience within a Retail Sales environment. You will have the ability to demonstrate a thorough commercial understanding of customer needs along with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills and an innovative approach towards maximising future commercial development opportunities.
