ASVA Rising Star Award 2019

ASVA are again on the lookout for talented young people working in our industry. We know that there are lots out there! Each year our Rising Star Award shines the spotlight on the emerging talent in Scottish visitor attractions. Our judging panel is always incredibly impressed with the commitment and dedication shown, a real passion for the industry and desire to deliver outstanding experiences to our visitors. We are looking for entries about young people who:
  • Understand their organisation and can demonstrate a recognisable contribution;
  • Inspire others with their energy and enthusiasm;
  • Show commitment to their own personal development;
  • Display any other special attributes that make them shine out!

So, if this year you think you have someone in your organisation that fits the bill then please nominate them for the Rising Star Award! Not only does it recognise their hard work and dedication, it also gives them fantastic opportunities such as attending our Annual Conference, and is also a great accolade to have on their CV. And in a change to previous years, we will be announcing the winner at a special Awards Ceremony that will be part of our Annual Conference Gala Dinner.

Our finalists from last year had some really positive comments to make about their experiences and would thoroughly recommend nominating a colleague. Find out more about what they had to say here.

The three successful short-listed candidates will be invited to attend both days of the highly acclaimed ASVA Annual Conference in November. This includes the opportunity to attend the Gala Dinner and stay overnight at Crieff Hydro for free. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet fellow industry professionals and be inspired by some great speakers.

In addition, the short-listed candidates will also be guaranteed an interview for a HIT Scotland scholarship. For more background information on HIT Scotland scholarships, please visit their website, where you will be able to read case studies of previous scholarship recipients and the benefits they have enjoyed.

And finally, as with all ASVA Awards, the Rising Star Award is FREE TO ENTER!

We are delighted to have key industry figures judging our Award again this year. Our expert panel includes Sally Rae, Senior Recruitment Consultant with Eden Scott and an ASVA Board Member, David Cochrane, Chief Executive of HIT Scotland and Lawrence Durden, Tourism Sector Manager with Skills Development Scotland.

ASVA would like to acknowledge Brodie’s support for the ASVA Awards. Brodies are well known for supplying quality teas and coffees to our industry, and they are keen to reflect this approach to quality throughout our industry! With their assistance, ASVA continues to shine a light on the best of our industry, showcasing excellence across the visitor attraction sector.
