Glenmore Forest Park and Visitor Centre

Glenmore Forest Park in the foothills of the Cairngorms, 7 miles from Aviemore offers unique opportunities for outdoor recreation. Loch Morlich, surrounded by native pine and birch woods, creates a focal point for adventure. On its water you can sail, canoe, windsurf and fish. Or you may prefer to keep your feet on dry land! Try out one of the numerous way marked walks around its shoreline and through the forest, or off road cycle routes. Perhaps just enjoy the beauty and peace and quiet, relax with a picnic on the sandy beach. Try bird watching for the diminutive crested tit to the dramatic display of fishing osprey on the loch. A visit to the Forest Park will be enriched by a visit to the Visitor Centre with its audio visual and interpretive displays explaining the global importance of ancient woodlands. The Forest Enterprise ranger service offers a range of walks, talks and activities for all ages and abilities. We also provide a service for schools, colleges and universities relating to ecological, land use, geography, natural and cultural heritage case studies. Toilets, cafe and a forest shop are provided to further enhance your visit. Whatever your interests are, no other area in the Highlands can offer such a wide range of opportunities to exercise, unwind or be at peace with nature.
