Glentrool Visitor Centre, Galloway Forest Park

After a long walk there's nothing better than a friendly welcome in our lovely café, situated in a tranquil setting beside the River Minnoch, by Shona and her team. There's a delicious selection of sandwiches, toasties, scones, all made on site, and other bites to eat - just make sure you save some space for cake! Don’t forget to let Shona and her team know if you have any dietary requirements so they can advise accordingly.

This is also the ideal time to watch the numerous birds at the feeding tables outside the café windows, as well as the chance to see red squirrels who take advantage of the feeders, while enjoying your well earned break.

Why not treat yourself or someone else to a gift from our small, select range, mainly from local producers and crafters in Dumfries and Galloway. Plus, new for 2016 is a waterproof dinky map featuring the Merrick Hill Trail for those who fancy a more strenuous but rewarding walk up the highest peak in South West Scotland.

You'll find accessible toilets here too.

Dogs welcome.
