House of Dun

This beautiful Georgian house, overlooking Montrose Basin, was built in 1730 for David Erskine, Lord Dun by William Adam . The house features superb plasterwork by Joseph Enzer. The courtyard buldings include various displays, a handloom weaving workshop, a well-stocked Trust shop, and a restaurant. There is a miniature theatre, an attractive walled garden and woodland walks. Opening Times: House: 1 Apr to 26 Jun, Wed–Sun, 12–5; 27 Jun to 28 Aug, daily 11-5; 29 Aug to 30 Oct, Wed–Sun 12-5. Guided tours only, every 45 mins. Garden and Estate: all year, daily 9–dusk. House also open on Bank Holiday weekends from Friday to Monday inclusive. Last admission 45 mins before closing
