Dynamic Earth

Fundraising Executive

Application Deadline: Friday 18th January 2019
About Us
Dynamic Earth is a science centre championing better understanding of Earth and environmental science. Our mission is to engage people of all ages and backgrounds with an understanding of how our planet works, its place in the Universe, and the evolution and diversity of life found within its different environments. Our 5-star visitor centre tells the story of the Earth in 14 immersive galleries featuring interactive exhibits such as a real iceberg, a 4D cinema and an earthquake floor. A programme of in-house and outreach activities offers learning opportunities across all STEM topics and includes workshops for school pupils linked to Curriculum for Excellence, CLPL for teachers, careers events, a children’s science club and a varied annual public programme. We seek to widen participation and boost confidence in the STEM context working in partnership with local community organisations and remote / rural communities. Strong links with the research community allow us to play a leading role in supporting public engagement with scientists and contemporary Scottish research.

Dynamic Earth was set up by a major fundraising campaign 20 years ago. Today it runs a small but high-quality fundraising programme, which we are seeking to expand. To help us achieve this a new role of Fundraising Executive has been created to work alongside the Head of Development & Fundraising. We are also working with More Partnership a leading fundraising consultancy to help define and deliver the new philanthropic strategy. As this is a new role in the team, some coaching and mentoring support will be provided by More Partnership as part of the induction process.
