Marketing and Events Assistant

Application Deadline: Friday 22nd February 2019
Located near Stirling, Blair Drummond Safari & Adventure Park is one of Scotland’s leading tourist attractions. The safari park is a seasonal attraction, open from mid-March until the end of October.

The opportunity has arisen to join our marketing team as a Marketing and Events Assistant. This is a fixed term position from March until October 2019.

The Marketing & Events Assistant will work as part of a team on the delivery of our successful events programme and will assist the Marketing Manager with promotions both in and outside the park. Duties will include:

  • assisting with event planning and evaluation

  • supervising small teams of staff and contractors during the set up and delivery of safari park events

  • leading the delivery of event activities such as arts & crafts and bio-fact touch tables

  • managing promotional activity at external events such as agricultural shows and in shopping centres

  • managing the delivery of temporary promotions within the safari park

This an ideal opportunity for a student in their penultimate or final year as an industry placement, or a recent graduate looking to gain practical experience in event management, tourism or marketing. Qualifications are not essential and we would welcome applications from able candidates with suitable experience.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate an understanding and commitment to the requirements of the role. Prepared to be flexible, work hard and learn on the job, you will be reliable, trustworthy, interested in animals and conservation, able to work with children ...and happy to wear fancy dress. We’re looking for somebody who’s got the ability to supervise and make sensible decisions, but also happy to roll their sleeves up and get stuck in.

Salary meets the national minimum/living wage.

A full driving licence is a necessary requirement for this position.

Hours flexible. Ideally we will recruit two members of staff on a minimum 20 hour contract, or one full time. Weekend working essential.
