Event Sales Manager - 12 month contract

Eden Scott is delighted to be working in partnership with a leading Edinburgh Visitor Attraction to recruit a Sales Manager for a twelve-month maternity contract.
The key focus of this role is to pro-actively drive sales and revenues for the venue. As Sales Manager you will plan and lead sales activity within the department to deliver sales targets throughout the year. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate experience within the Events sector along with the drive and enthusiasm to both lead and take an active part in the sales process.

Key Responsibilities:

Increase Events income for the Venue by developing and implementing a comprehensive sales action plan.
Review revenue achieved on a weekly and monthly basis and implement relevant sales initiatives to ensure targets are met and income maximised.
Work with the Director to ensure that all financial targets are met or exceeded
Create and implement the Venue's Sales strategy to achieve and exceed forecasted figures in Conferences, Meetings, Weddings, Gala Diners and other prestige events
Research, identify and actively approach companies and organisations that have the capacity to book an event within the venue
Ensure the team are motivated and focused on converting every sale
Work with other venues and agencies to build and maintain business relationships
Work closely with the Events Manager to coordinate activities of the wider Events Team to ensure excellent customer service is maintained throughout the process
Review and analyse the weekly and monthly reports highlighting any differences between actual and forecast sales
Ensure competitor analysis is carried out regularly, and ensuring the team are aware of competitors and their facilities
Organise and participate in client sales and hospitality events

Key skills required:
Minimum of 4 years experience in a similar sales environment ideally in a venue or a hotel.
Experience in managing a sales process & team would be highly desirable
Degree in Event Management or equivalent is desirable.
Able to demonstrate a pro-active and positive approach to the full range of sales activities required for this role.
Must have the ability to drive and deliver the Events Sales activity plan.
Must have the ability to motivate the Sales & Events teams.
Exceptional organisation skills and the ability to work well under pressure is a must.

This is a key, salary circa 30k and benefits package dependant on experience, plus generous holiday entitlement.
