Eden Scott is delighted to be working with Fife Cultural Trust to recruit a Business Development Manager to drive a wide range of business activities to maximise income generation including retail/catering management opportunities for the Trust.

Fife Cultural Trust is an ambitious Public Sector Charity that have so much to be proud of from the historical grandeur of Carnegie Hall and Adam Smith Theatre to the modern, versatility of Lochgelly Centre and Rothes Halls.

They have over 20 venues from theatres to museums & galleries and to libraries and their vision is for Fife to be a culturally vibrant and rewarding place to live, work and visit.

The role of Business Development Manager will report into the Director of Corporate and Commercial Development and will lead teams that span all current areas of trading operations; catering, retail, room hire, and events whilst seeking to expand the portfolio of activities. You will set the direction for the team and ensure they are provided with the necessary support, encouragement and autonomy to succeed in their roles.

Key objectives

Responsible for the management and development of business activities to maximise income generation including retail/catering management opportunities for the Trust.
Engage and establish new partners and businesses to create new income streams and opportunities for income generation brokering deals, sponsorship, etc. and which also assist the Trust in attracting new business opportunities.
Instigate and implement creative business planning initiatives to both consolidate and improve the commercial performance of the Trust; responsible for presenting recommendations on business strategy.
Drive commercialisation opportunities across the Trust working with managers to identify opportunities
Lead on implementing projects - work with marketing staff, and other managers, to increase income opportunities and maximise revenue for the organisation.
Ensure the Trading subsidiary operates as a profit making business.
Analyse financial data to assess business performance; making recommendations for remedial action where appropriate.
Provide business intelligence and guidance to the Executive Team, reporting on trends and analysis of data.
Engage new customers and ensure their experience is in keeping with World Host standards.
Provide strategic direction and support for direct line reports and ensure the commercial team are a high performing team.
Key skills and experience required

Applying candidates should have a CV that details:

Proven experience of business development in a retail, catering, hospitality or business tourism setting, preferably with experience of event management.
Proven commercial aptitude and experience of developing and implementing successful new business ideas.
Demonstrable experience of financial business planning and budget management.
Excellent, proven people management skills, with evidence of clear leadership ability.
Excellent customer awareness with experience across a broad range of clientele with the ability to develop and maintain effective relationships internally and externally.
Excellent salary circa £36,500 - £38,500 dependent on skills and experience is on offer plus various generous company benefits in order to secure the right candidate.

This a 36-hour contract and a full-time opportunity.

This role will be based in Kirkcaldy and the post holder will be required to travel throughout Fife, applicants must have a driving licence and their own car.
