An exciting opportunity has arisen at Scotland’s renowned ‘Theatre in the Hills’. At Pitlochry Festival Theatre, we are searching for a Commis Chef to assist in our busy catering operation.

Attracting over 100,000 people each year, Pitlochry Festival Theatre (PFT) is a unique, theatrical phenomenon in the heart of Perthshire.

PFT is famous for large scale productions, delivered to international standards, with multitudes of sumptuous costumes and exquisitely detailed sets that quite often get their own round of applause!

Our location plays its own starring role in the PFT experience. We sit right on the bank of the Tummel; the views of the river and the ‘Speckled Mountain’, Ben-y-Vrackie, are spectacular. Our food too plays a starring role and our catering department do a wonderful job to ensure that there are no rumbling tummies in our audience during the performance!

Job Purpose:

The Commis Chef supports and assists the Head Chef in delivering commercial food production

processes and the delivery of a consistently high quality offer and standard of service at Pitlochry

Festival Theatre’s food outlets.

The post-holder works closely with all members of the kitchen team to help to deliver the highest

quality food and to contribute and support the organisation in its day to day activities and

contribute to its long-term strategy and vision.

Main Responsibilities:

To work in a busy kitchen, cooking for restaurant services, catering for small- to large-scale conferences and events, and producing a range of deli and lunch items for the café.
To work to a high standard of food presentation, supporting a strong house style for all products leaving the kitchen.
To deliver extraordinary service to visitors through the quality, consistency and presentation of ingredients and dishes.
To support the Head Chef in ensuring the continuous development and improvement of kitchen standards.
To support the Head Chef in maintaining high standards of health & safety and hygiene in the kitchen.
