Would you like to take care of RZSS Edinburgh Zoo? Are you an experienced Stores Assistant looking for a rewarding role with one of Scotland’s leading education and conservation charities? We are looking for a part-time Stores assistant to assist in the provision of stores section services to the Living Collection Department at Edinburgh Zoo.

We know that the Stores Assistant role is pivotal to the smooth day-to-day running of Edinburgh Zoo. This is an interesting and varied role, whilst you won’t be caring for our Panda’s or Koala’s you will be caring for Edinburgh Zoo in a range of ways including the transportation, collection and issuing of goods around the park and from suppliers, assisting in the control of stock levels and maintaining stock control records.

What you’ll be doing

We are looking for a Stores Assistants to join our Living Collections team to assist in performing all aspects of the day to day operation of the stores section at Edinburgh Zoo. As Stores Assistant, you can expect to be involved with the following:

* Work with minimal supervision, under the direction of the Senior Store Keeper, to provide stores, stock control and driving tasks to agreed standards.
* Maintain the safe and clean condition of the stores section and vehicles, and report all items requiring maintenance as set out in the relevant procedures.
* Issue and transport goods around the park to meet the requirements of the relevant sections on a daily basis.
* Collect agreed goods, supplies and samples from sections around the park, and agreed suppliers, and deliver as required

This is a part-time position where the working hours are 17 hours per week. Please note that the successful candidate will require a basic Disclosure Scotland Check.

About You
If you’re passionate about animals and conservation and have the following, we would love to hear from you:

* A basic knowledge and understanding of stock control systems.
* A full UK driving license is essential.
* Positive team player who thrives on working collaboratively with your colleagues as well as independently on a variety of projects and tasks
* Ability to prioritise tasks and present a professional approach to all tasks.
