Part-Time Fixed term (12 months) Post based in Edinburgh
Starting salary £29,759 (band D – Pro rata)

We are looking to recruit a highly motivated Events Manager to cover a period of maternity leave. The successful candidate will help build and deliver an internationally recognised programme of events spanning science, culture and the arts, within a world class botanic garden.

You will work as part of the public engagement team, dedicated to developing audiences and raising awareness of our understanding and appreciation of the natural world. Your role will plan and deliver a programme of public events and activities across the organisation, including our regional gardens.

You will develop and deliver with our partners a programme of high profile, adult and family events, including our contribution to the Edinburgh Science Festival and Festival Fringe and major commercial events, such as Christmas at the Botanics (audience 70,000+) and Luna Cinema.

You should have a successful track record of developing and delivering public events, including managing staff and budgets. Good organisational skills will be essential, as will an ability to communicate verbally and in writing to a variety of audiences and deal with situations as they arise in meeting visitor needs and expectations.

Successful candidate will normally work four days per week, although a degree of flexibility will be required as some weekend or evening working will be required to manage/co-ordinate event delivery events.
