Setting the scene…

We are Ian Macleod Distillers (IMD), a third generation family owned and managed whisky and spirits business operating across the UK and internationally. We are producers of multi award winning premium whisky and gin with many other whiskies and spirits as part of our exquisite portfolio. Crafting Spirits With Passion, is what we do best… not only are we producers of liquid, but we are also distributors and suppliers in B2B and B2C channels. We are a brand led, successful family business with our spirits (people and liquid), at our very core. Driven by passion, enthusiasm and solid business values, we are now expanding our B2C offering and continuing to invest in each of our brand homes (visitor centres) as our brands continue to evolve and grow.

We currently operate our brand homes (BH) across Glasgow (Glengoyne) and Edinburgh (Edinburgh Gin) and have consistently been rated on Trip Advisor as part of Scotland’s top rated tourist attractions! Our teams already deliver some of the finest distillery tours and tastings in the country and provide truly engaging and world class visitor experiences. After recently securing planning permission for our new distillery and visitor centre in Falkirk (Rosebank), and not one for ‘resting on our laurels’, we continue to make further capital investments across all of our core brand homes. We are also further investing in our people and growing and enhancing our operational capability, to continually evolve and expand our visitor offering. Providing unique and outstanding visitor experiences, all underpinned by our focus on customer centricity and authenticity, this is the beating heart of our IMD proposition. Our new opportunity…

As this is a brand new role and a critical appointment for us, we are being very specific about the skills and previous experiences we are looking for. As such, we want to provide candidates with as much detail as possible to help inform candidates. We are now looking for a Brand Homes Operations Manager who will oversee all of our brand homes’ operational activities. This role will report to our Brand Homes Director (BHD) and will have direct line management of the senior Brand Homes team, the team of Brand Homes Managers who are responsible for the day to day running of their visitor centre at each of our sites. This new role will have both strategic and operational ownership and accountability across the management and delivery of visitor experiences across our estate. The remit will be to create and maintain a best in class IMD visitor centre operational model (which aligns to IMD culture which is replicable and scalable) in terms of: people engagement and development; and structures and processes. The overall aim is to continue to ensure that the IMD brand homes function and each brand’s specific venue, develops and delivers creative, inspiring, unique and wholly customer centric ‘on brand’ experiences to delight and excite our customers, doing so with profitability and commercial viability at the core.
