Days and hours of work: Sunday to Thursday including occasional holiday cover for a Saturday when required. 37.5 hours per week 9:30am to 6:00pm with a 1 hour unpaid lunch break. Hours are 10:00am to 6:30pm for 3 weeks in July. £21,000 to £21,675 depending on experience.

Working within the Accounts Department, the ideal candidate will have responsibility for all aspects of counting and recording of daily income, ensuring cash, card and voucher transactions are processed accurately. Other tasks include the production of daily reports, recording receipts and payments, bank reconciliations, processing credit card orders and posting journals. Other duties will include processing of sales invoices and purchase ledger input.

Count daily cash takings, and reconcile daily polling of credit card income to bank account. Weekly banking and reconciling of car park monies, balance safe. Record variances and report to relevant managers,
Check and prepare cash floats,
Empty and refill carpark pay machines and vending machines,
Produce daily income reports,
Maintain & post cash books,
Process monthly journals for credit cards and petty cash,
Credit control
Administer sales ledger for Christmas Party booking, process payments, raise receipts and record transactions
Maintain car park as well as EPOS chip and pin contracts
Produce monthly Gift Aid reports
Provide additional support to Accounts Receivable, Sales Ledger and all aspects of credit control
Provide cover for purchase ledger invoices and payroll when required

Qualifications and experience
Minimum of 2 years’ experience working within a Finance team or Accounts department,
Knowledge of double entry and the recording and control of cash are essential,
A background of working in a cash based environment e.g. within the Leisure and Tourism or Retail sector would be preferable,
Excellent Excel skills and comfortable with formulas, lookups and pivot tables
Strong attention to detail and ability to work in an organised and accurate manner.
The ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing.
