Harestanes’ Countryside Visitors Centre is a stunning location in the heart of the region, within easy reach just off the A68. The site has seen considerable investment over the last year, with a new £350,000 inclusive and accessible play park, newly refurbished café and new events programme. There are more exciting changes to come and we are looking for an ambitious, energetic and motivated Manager to lead the team into this next chapter.

The Manager will be responsible for:

Overseeing the café, retail, events programme and new play park operations
Driving secondary spend to meet commercial targets
Leading a small and dynamic team
Collaborating with local micro businesses based on the estate
Reinforcing our charitable objectives

Harestanes is managed by Live Borders: a multi-million pound charity employing over 250+ talented people and welcoming well over a million people to our sites per year. We operate many of the cultural and heritage highlights in the Scottish Borders and continue to invest in developing our reputation for great customer service.

We’re a really nice bunch. Live Borders is a relatively new charity but we have a great vision to make everyone living in, working in and visiting the Borders healthier, happier and stronger. We are committed to creating a sustainable charity which means we need someone who can combine commercial common sense with an understanding of what it means to be community-focused. Every penny our visitors spend with us is reinvested into supporting active, creative and healthy communities in the Scottish Borders.

We’re ideally looking for someone with leisure, cultural or hospitality sector experience, with the ability to lead a multi-faceted team and manage budgets. We are looking for a people person with excellent customer service skills.

Live Borders in return can guarantee new exciting developments as we look to take Harestanes into the next phase of its development, with a wide range of other cool projects that we are aiming to deliver over the next few years.
