Glengoyne Distillery

Brand Heritage Assistant (Glengoyne Distillery) - Seasonal

Application Deadline: Monday 15th July 2019
We are Glengoyne…

Since 1833, we have been making our wonderful malt whisky… We have a multi award-winning premium whisky and our visitor experience is rated on Trip Advisor as one of Scotland’s top-rated tourist attractions! Nestled in a beautiful and picturesque setting just north of Glasgow, stands our beautiful Glengoyne Distillery. At the heart of our brand, product and experience are our people… it’s our people who make all of the magic happen!

We currently have an exciting opportunity for fun, energetic and enthusiastic individuals to join our family as one of our prestigious Brand Heritage Assistants. As a Brand Heritage Assistant, you will be a true ambassador of Glengoyne, delivering the finest distillery tours and tastings in the country and providing truly engaging and world class visitor experiences!

We’re looking for charismatic individuals with warm and bubbly personalities who have a real passion for providing only the best and engaging experiences for our visitors, customers and consumers. You will be a confident speaker as the role will involve you professionally bringing to life the guided tours in your unique charismatic and colourful manner, hosting tasting sessions and where required, supporting the events team and representing our brand at various event activities both on and off site. Spoken fluency in languages other than English, along with previous premium visitor centre experience is desirable but not essential. We want you to be as passionate and knowledgeable about our brands and products as we are, therefore full training will also be provided.

We currently have seasonal positions available (July/August to October). Given that the nature of these roles fluctuates with consumer demand, we are looking for individuals who are flexible in regards to the actual hours they work and we need candidates to be able to work regular weekends and evenings.

Glengoyne is located North of Glasgow on the A81 at Dumgoyne, and as a result of the hours required and the flexibility needed, it is anticipated that applicants need to be within commuting distance to the distillery and ideally with their own transport given the remote location and the hours worked. In addition, given the industry and product we service, to be considered for a role, applicants must be aged 18 or over. The closing date for applications is 15th July 2019 and we’d ideally be looking for successful applicants to start with us at the end of July/beginning of August.

Glengoyne is part of Ian Macleod Distillers, an entrepreneurial, family owned whisky and spirits business who own other premium and luxury brands such as Edinburgh Gin, Tamdhu, Smokehead, to name but a few! ‘Crafting Spirits With Passion’ is what we do best. Our brand heritage assistant role is a varied and rewarding role so… if this type of role excites you and appears to be ‘right up your street’, then we’d love to hear from you!

If you would like to apply for this opportunity, please visit directly where you can apply for the vacancy by registering with us and uploading your CV and cover letter directly onto our portal. We are looking for you to submit your CV AND provide us with a creative and tailored cover letter, conveying your personality and charisma, and explaining why you are the most suitable candidate for this position. Remember… as part of the selection process, we are looking for a unique group of people with individual personalities so you need to demonstrate those qualities through your application information. We want to continue to evolve our offering to provide exceptional customer service that will engage and excite our visitors in the real ‘Glengoyne’ way, therefore wall flowers or shrinking violets need not apply!

Ian Macleod Distillers (IMD) are proud members of the Scotch Whisky Association, Drink Aware and the Portman Group. In our individual IMD way, we endeavour to follow best practice to help shape our commitment to wider social responsibility and industry standards. We are advocates of promoting responsible selling and consumption of alcohol.
