The Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join us as Facilities & Services Supervisor overseeing one of our clusters of community libraries. This busy and vibrant cluster consists of Dalgety Bay Library, Rosyth Library, Aberdour Library and Kincardine Library. The post holder will be based between Dalgety Bay and Rosyth Libraries, with oversight of Aberdour and Kincardine Libraries requiring regular visits to these sites.

The Responsibilities
The successful candidate’s key responsibilities will include ensuring excellent customer service relating to library services offered within the facilities at all levels, as well as all aspects of people management within venues. The role will include supervising effectively the staffing resource, dealing with recruitment, on-boarding, motivation, learning and development, attendance and communication.

The post holder will be responsible for the promotion of all services offered by Fife Cultural Trust and will ensure a high standard of presentation of the facilities relating to these services. There is responsibility to maintain accurate records and operate the appropriate systems for administrative, budgetary, financial tasks and statistical data, delegating as required. The role includes responsibility for ensuring the working and public areas are safe and secure, which includes acting and reporting on any defects within buildings and ensuring workplace maintenance is carried out.

The Successful Candidate
The successful candidate will have recent and relevant experience of people supervision and direct customer service and care in a cultural or related environment. A flexible attitude and a willingness to meet customer expectations is required along with excellent communication, administrative and organisational skills, together with confidence in supervising and managing a team. The post holder will complement these skills with experience and knowledge of ICT systems including Microsoft applications. As a people person, the successful candidate will have demonstrated their ability to deal confidently with customers from all walks of life in a pleasant, focused and responsible manner.

Working Pattern (36 hours per week):
Weeks 1 & 3
Monday to Wednesday, 9.00 - 5.00, Thursday 9.00 - 7.00 pm and Saturday 9.00 - 2.00 pm

Weeks 2 & 4
Monday to Friday 9.00 - 5.00

This pattern will be subject to change according to the needs of the service, and flexibility will be required.
