Rothes Halls is a lively entertainment & conference venue, with a library and busy café, located right in the heart of Glenrothes. We’ve a diverse and popular programme of events at this 616-seat/1400 standing venue including popular music, big-name comedy, drama, dance, children's shows, and community engagement events Our theatre also supports and hosts local arts organisations, as well as a range of classes,workshops and festivals. What makes Rothes Halls unique is that we can stage large-scale, site-specific theatre productions.
Our FifeSpace & FotoSpace visual arts galleries are located on the first floor and host new exhibitions every six weeks, ranging from nationally-recognised names to touring exhibitions and local artists' work.

The Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for a suitably experienced, dynamic and highly motivated Venue/Theatre Manager to lead this diverse venue while serving the community of Fife and beyond. You’ll oversee the core operations processes for your venue, encompassing auditorium productions, cinema, a popular Library with a regular programme of events and a series of exhibitions in the visual arts galleries. This is an exciting opportunity to shape and lead a key role in the next stage of growth for Rothes Halls and Fife Cultural Trust.

You’ll be able to demonstrate extensive experience of managing a venue operation at a senior level in an arts, events or hospitality environment.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:
• Provide leadership and management of all operational team members within your venue.
• Responsible for operational resources and efficient communication between all teams to meet customer requirements and successful service delivery
• Planning, scheduling, and oversee budgets and facilities will form part of your role.
• Ensure a high quality customer experience throughout your venue by providing training and development opportunities for the team to excel.
• Act as the responsible person for health and safety matters within the building
• Responsible for operational issues relating to building maintenance, security and facilities
• Liaising and communicating with all contractors and suppliers engaged to provide services, specialist equipment and other support services
• Responsible for ensuring all licences within your venue are kept up to date, such as alcohol, theatre, cinema, music, etc. and be the Premises Licence Holder for the provision of alcohol at the venue
• Being the lead designated person for child protection issues within your venue – act as the point of contact and liaise, as required, with the community police
• Responsible for good relations within the local community looking to maximise opportunities for working in partnership with the community and local groups

As a member of the Management Team your contribution to the wider organisational development of Fife Cultural Trust and support the development of cross-Trust collaboration and coordination of service delivery is valuable.

Requirements
You’ll hold a diploma or equivalent qualification in a related field or have relevant years’ experience, equivalent to the above. You’ll have a keen eye for detail and be able to demonstrate the following:

1. Substantial management and leadership experience in an operational role within a theatre/performance environment, commercial knowledge, developing complex team rotas, the delivery of high quality services with a broad understanding of Health & Safety processes.
2. A good knowledge of the technical aspects of stage lighting, audio, video and related support systems within the Performing Arts Sectors
3. Ability to work flexibly and to prioritise own and others workloads.
4. Experience of performance management and disciplinary policies and procedures.
5. A proven record of promoting an ethos of customer excellence, respect and inclusion.
6. Experience of developing improvement plans for facilities and have successfully delivered and led change in facilities.
7. Strong coaching, people and team management skills tied with excellent interpersonal skills and a confident manner when negotiating and influencing people.
8. A creative and innovative approach to problem solving coupled with enthusiasm, passion and commitment to providing excellent customer service.
