The Role
With the community at the heart of everything we do, as a Driver/Library Assistant, you’ll have a passion for delivering vital community services and ensure that every visitor to the mobile library is given they type of service that ensures that they want to keep returning.

As a key frontline staff member, your passion for libraries as well art, culture and community engagement will be apparent as you work with people to provide high quality services to our customers and communities.

The Responsibilities
You'll be responsible for driving a 7.5 tonne mobile library and need category C1 on your driving licence and a CPC certificate. You’ll be expected to undertake routine daily checks of the vehicle and to adhere to servicing schedules.

You’ll be expected to carry out library duties such as managing stock, issuing and returning books and assisting with user queries. Ideally, you’ll come from a service background, but it'll be your enthusiasm for helping others and devotion to customer care that makes you really stand out. Naturally good with people, you'll be able to put customers of all ages and backgrounds at ease, whilst helping to promote our services.

Organised, efficient and thriving on variety, you will be competent using IT and library management systems and it goes without saying you'll need excellent numeracy, literacy, administrative and communication skills.
