THE BOARD OF HISTORIC ENVIRONMENT SCOTLAND

MEMBERS

Application Deadline: Friday 06th December 2019
HES is the lead body for the historic environment in Scotland. Our work touches everyone in Scotland at every age. We are the custodians of the past, for the present and future. We will be 5 years old in 2020 and we are looking for up to four new members to join the Board at an exciting time for the organisation.

Applications are invited from a wide range of people, particularly from individuals with more specific skills in archives, world class visitor management and large-scale project management. We are looking for one new Board member to join our Audit, Risk and Assurance Committee.

Not all successful applicants will need to have previous experience of serving on a Board, whether a charity or a public body, but we are looking for the ability to provide strategic direction and effective challenge.

HES has organised two events, open to prospective applicants, to learn more about our work, how we fullfil our responsibilities, and the expectations of being a Board member. They are an informal opportunity to hear from current Board members. For further information, please contact Alex Paterson, Chief Executive of HES at chiefexecutive@hes.scotor or call 0131 668 8989.

It is anticipated that up to four appointed members will take up post by 23 March 2020 for a period of four years.
For more specific details of the requirements for the roles, please see the Person Specification which forms part of the information Pack for Applicants.

An application pack and full details can be downloaded by e-mail at pa_applications_mailbox@gov.scot or by writing to Public Appointments, Scottish Government, 3F (North), Victoria Quay, Edinburgh, EH6 6QQ.
Closing date is Friday, 6 December 2019 (Midnight)
