MacMillan Project Officer

Organisation: OnFife

Salary: £34614 to £38312 Pro Rata for Part Time Employees

Location: Fife

We are OnFife and as Fife’s largest cultural organisation we specialise in making jaws drop, hearts warm, eyes light up and imaginations run wild. We work with a huge range of partners, artists and creatives and our spaces are some of Fife’s favourite places. An ambitious leadership-oriented charity, we’re built on strong values, and those values make us who we are – Fearless, Inviting, Fair and Exciting.

As an employer, we offer a local government pension scheme, generous holiday allowance and flexible working opportunities. If you need to travel for work, we can provide pool cars if you’re near head office or pay travel expenses so you are not out of pocket! Along with this, you can also access discounted gym/swim memberships and other employee benefits.

The Role

In partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support and as a member of the Improving the Cancer Journey network in Fife, the Macmillan Project Officer will implement volunteer-led Cancer Information and Support Centres across OnFife Libraries.

As well as helping to design and launch four support centres, you will be responsible for creating partnerships with other cancer support organisations, and for promoting the service to support workers and to people affected by cancer across Fife. You will also help establish a strong volunteer network to become the core of the service and work to embed the service within OnFife and explore potential future developments.

This role will require evening and weekend work on occasion. Although you’d normally be based at our Head Office in Kirkcaldy, we are currently working from home, with a move to a Hybrid Working model coming soon. You will also be required to work at any of our venues throughout Fife as needed for the project. This is a rare opportunity to work on such a worthwhile project and help shape and deliver an innovative and essential service for the people of Fife! View the full job description on our website.

About You

You’ll be a confident project manager with great people and organisational skills, who is used to leading and using your initiative. You’ll have excellent written and verbal communication skills and an outgoing and responsive outlook. With the ability to undertake strategic planning, you will be able to lead and motivate volunteers and team members.

As the remit of this role is Fife wide, you will ideally have a driving license, or access to transport to travel between our venues.
