Visitor Experience Assistant (Reception)

Salary: £10.90 per hour (SLW)

Location: 14 Greenmarket, Dundee, DD1 4QB

Contract: Fixed term 18-month, annualised hours, part time contracts available – 24 hour per week.
Typical working patterns consist of: (Mon, Tues, Sat) then (Wed, Thurs, Fri)

Dundee Science Centre is currently looking for 2 experienced and motivated individuals to join our team to fulfil the integral role of Visitor Experience Assistant (Reception) in a part time capacity.

You will be the face of Dundee Science Centre – based at reception you will welcome, visitors, colleagues, partners, and stakeholders with a welcoming and bubbly attitude. Your main duties will be to oversee and provide an excellent visitor experience at our admissions desk and Gift Shop ensuring best practice in approach and delivery. You will respond to visitor queries and requests via phone, email, website, and social media outlets. You will assist with the processing of all birthday party, schools, and community bookings as and when required. You will be able to create social media content and support with scheduling across all aspects of DSC’s services, programmes and products utilising all related digital systems.

You will carry out all administration tasks as required across all departments as well as carry out procurement and stocktakes as required.
This is a public facing role and as such you will work across the Services department with a proactive hands-on approach to 5-star operational delivery. You will work closely with all members of both our Services and STEM delivery teams, implementing and adhering to Dundee Science Centre’s policies and procedures to ensure the smooth and effective running of the visitor attraction.
You will be an advocate for Inclusion & Diversity, supporting the development of DSC’s culture of inclusion for our team and visitors.

We are looking for someone with relevant knowledge and operational experience, with a proven track record of delivering excellent customer service and who wants to work in a fast-paced environment and make a difference to society by supporting the work we do at Dundee Science Centre.

You will work flexibly within the Dundee Science Centre team; hours of work to be discussed, flexible working will be considered, and weekend and evening work will be required.
