ASVA Card FAQs

What are ASVA cards used for?

ASVA cards allow staff from member attractions to visit other sites for free (in exceptional cases, some attractions may offer discounted rates). They are an educational tool to help staff:

  • Familiarise themselves with other attractions.
  • Recommend nearby attractions to visitors.
  • Benchmark and identify best practice that can be implemented at their own sites.

Who can use ASVA cards?

ASVA cards are for individual use by staff members only. They cannot be used by accompanying adults or children.

Do I need to book in advance to use an ASVA card?

Some attractions may require advance booking or have restricted capacity during busy periods (e.g., Edinburgh Festival). Check the Membership Directory on the ASVA website for specific guidelines before your visit.

Can I use ASVA cards for group visits?

No, as cards are for use by individual members of staff, it would be anticipated that only one or two cards (maximum) be presented at any time. If more than two staff members are visiting together, contact the attraction in advance to confirm this is acceptable.

Are ASVA cards valid for special events or additional activities?

No, ASVA cards are typically not valid for additional activities (e.g., pony trekking) or special events. Confirm with the attraction before your visit.

Can ASVA cards be combined with other discounts?

No, ASVA cards cannot be used alongside other offers or discounts.

How can I ensure smooth entry when using an ASVA card?

  • Check the Membership Directory in advance of your visit to identify if there are any specific guidelines in place.
  • Ensure that you read all of the FAQs and adhere to all of the Conditions of Use as to proper use of ASVA Cards.
