Accessibility in a post-Covid world

Run By ASVA/ VisitScotland

Broadcast On 17/09/2020

With Covid-19 necessitating a major review of the visitor experience that attractions offer, how can members still ensure that they are being accessible and welcoming to all visitors? A recent survey carried out by Euan’s Guide, a leading online resource for disabled people, indicated that many disabled people fear exclusion due to Covid-19 precautions. This webinar was designed to share tips and resources to ensure that our attractions are able to deliver experiences that make visitors of all abilities feel welcome and confident to visit. We were joined in this by industry experts Abby Richards, Communications Manager with Euan’s Guide and Marina Di Duca, Inclusive Tourism Manager with VisitScotland.

In addition, we also heard from Peter Nurick from V&A Dundee. Peter is the Communities Producer with V&A Dundee, and has particular responsibility for Access and Inclusion. He talked about the work that V&A Dundee have done in advance of their re-opening to ensure that the revised visitor experience has maintained its inclusivity.
