Members Meetup - Recovery and Re-opening

Our first Members Meetup focused on the ongoing recovery and re-opening process within the sector in Scotland. We were delighted to be joined by Alex Geddes, Operations Manager of Peterhead Prison Museum and Andrew Johnson, General Manager of Camera Obscura & World of Illusions. Both shared their experiences of managing the re-opening process, from the perspective of attractions of different scales and demographics. Both presented on performance thus far, where visitors have come from, what feedback has been like, as well as some of the challenges they have faced with the post-lockdown conditions and how they are endeavouring to continue to deliver exceptional visitor experiences. We also heard from Lesley Judge, Project Manager of the newly launched Traveltech for Scotland initiative. Lesley told us more about this exciting initiative, which is designed to support Scotland’s traveltech pioneers and help boost sustainable tourism recovery through tech innovation.
