Members Meetup - Resilience and Adaptability

Run By ASVA

Broadcast On 12/11/2020

Our November Meetup explores resilience and adaptability within the sector. We were delighted to be joined by Susan Davies, CEO of the Scottish Seabird Centre, Pauline Young, Managing Director of Mackintosh at the Willow and Alyce Paton, Manager of Inveraray Castle. All three shared their experiences of how the pandemic has hit business at their attractions and how they adapted and pivoted to ensure business survival and drive new income streams. Amongst other topics, both Susan and Pauline provided insights into their organisations’ respective successful crowdfunding campaigns and Alyce spoke about her bold decision to launch a new event for the October holidays.

We were also joined by Leah Hutcheon, CEO of new ASVA member, Appointedd. Leah spoke on the topic of innovation, discussing how attractions can use online platforms to manage the visitor experience, as well as diversify products and create new income streams.

Following the short presentations there was time for a facilitated Q&A session and for members to share their own views and experiences.

The ASVA Members Meetups have been specifically created to afford our members the opportunity to virtually meetup, regardless of where you are based, to encourage knowledge and best practice exchanges across the sector and, of course, to enable you to grow your network of industry contacts.
