The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Museum Assistant to join our team at St Andrews Museum. This is a permanent post, working 14 hours per week in summer season, and 10 hours in the winter. The working pattern noted below is an indication of typical requirements however flexibility will be required to meet business needs.
Summer Season
Monday 10:00 – 14:00
Tuesday 10:00 – 16:30 (weeks 1 &3)
Friday 10:00 – 14:00
Saturday 10:00 – 16:30 (weeks 2 & 4)
Winter Season
Thursday 10:00 – 14:00
Friday 10:00 – 16:30
You’ll ensure that every visitor to St Andrews Museum has a memorable visit. You will adapt to and acknowledge the diversity of our visitors and what they aim to get out of their visit to the venue.

About You
You’ll ideally come from a visitor or customer service background, but it’ll be your enthusiasm for helping others and devotion to customer care that makes you really stand out.
Naturally good with people, you’ll be able to put customers of all ages and backgrounds at ease, whilst helping to promote the venue, its activities and events. Your passion for history, culture and community engagement will be apparent.
You will be organised, efficient and thrive on variety. It goes without saying you’ll need excellent numeracy, literacy and communication skills, but you’ll also need excellent administration skills, and knowledge of the processes involved with ensuring the security and operation of the venue.
