We are looking for a retail focused, proactive and approachable leader with excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills, who can motivate and support a team, deliver outstanding customer service, and ensure high standards of presentation and operational efficiency.

Retail Supervisor
The Retail Supervisor ensures a five-star visitor experience and the efficient, profitable running of the gift shop by supporting staff, maintaining high standards of customer care and presentation, addressing performance issues, and developing training. They oversee daily operations including stock management, merchandising, promotions, and reporting issues, while ensuring resources are used effectively to meet business needs.

Key Responsibilities
• Staff Management – This role oversees all aspects of the retail team, ensuring a consistent 5-star visitor experience by monitoring performance, providing training and support, managing scheduling and staffing, and handling minor disciplinary matters. It also involves leading by example, mentoring new recruits, supporting team leaders, and serving as a reliable point of contact for staff issues.
• Shop Floor – Ensure the gift shop and all retail areas are safe, compliant, clean, and fully operational, coordinating with maintenance and management as needed. Support with seasonal decorating, basic maintenance, delegating tasks, and stepping in for till operations and daily management duties when required.
• Operations – Oversee shop cleanliness, stock presentation, and deliveries while ensuring food safety and proper rotation. Support the Retail Manager by identifying sales opportunities, contributing ideas, and leading projects to enhance the visitor experience and boost sales.
• Customer Service – Act as the main point of contact for customer complaints, resolving issues promptly and courteously, supporting affected staff, and escalating to management when necessary.
• Emergencies/Security – Be prepared to handle emergencies, administer First Aid, respond to suspicious behaviour, and ensure staff follow proper cash handling, till, and security procedures.
• Communication – Maintain strong relationships across departments, sharing feedback with the Retail Manager, managing customer enquiries and mail orders, and ensuring effective communication. Attend and contribute to retail and management meetings, representing the Retail Manager when required.
