We are looking for a Seasonal Visitor Experience Assistants to join our team at Edinburgh Zoo. In this role you will be helping with cover for our peak Spring and Summer period, the role is expected to last 6 months to 31 October 2024 and include part time, variable hours, with some weekend work. The role

Providing a first-class service to visitors to the RZSS Edinburgh Zoo in a varied and exciting role engaging with customers/visitors ensuring a high standard of customer service at all times. Ensuring all areas of the site are presented to the highest standards.

Some of the things you’ll do:

Provide first-class customer service by maintaining a positive, welcoming environment, proactive and helpful attitude to all visitors at all times, meeting or exceeding our Customer Service Standards.

Ensure all front of house areas are maintained to the highest standard, ensuring stocks are regularly replenished, all areas are clean and clear, all products are displayed and merchandised as directed.

Operate admissions systems efficiently and effectively to both sell and upsell products.

Operate the tills efficiently and assist with the counting and recording of monies to agreed standards.

Respond to unexpected situations in a professional manner and seek advice and support from line manager when required.??

Act as a responsible driver for on-site visitor transport on a rostered basis.?

Ensure all front of house areas (car park, members gate, vehicle gate) are maintained to the highest standard, ensuring tickets, leaflets and information are regularly replenished, all areas are clean and clear, all posters and signs are presented as directed.?

Occasionally provide assistance in other operational areas including retail

Building on previous experience share ideas and suggestions to increase revenue and minimise impact on the environment.

Ensure compliance with RZSS’ policies, procedures and guidelines, together with all relevant regulatory and statutory requirements.

Engage with the Society’s appraisal system, and demonstrate commitment to our values, behaviours and your continuous personal development.

Perform other reasonable duties and projects for RZSS as directed by your Manager. .

What we’re looking for:

Good achievement in standard grades (or equivalent), including English and Mathematics.
Accurate numerical reasoning skills and attention to detail.
Experience in use of electronic cash till.
Providing first-class customer care and service, including dealing with customer queries.

Who We Are Looking For…

In order to be considered for this opportunity, we are looking for candidates who have previous experience in a similar role to ours and can clearly demonstrate they have exceptional customer service and people management skills, ideally within a visitor attraction and/or hospitality environment. Previous experience within the whisky and spirits industry would be beneficial but not essential.

We are looking for someone with a charismatic, warm and engaging personality, who is able to lead a successful team of individuals, establishing a warm and friendly culture. An effective communicator who can build strong relationships, and work together with the team to deliver a seamless service which will excite and delight our customers. We are looking for candidates who have an eye for detail and a drive for ongoing improvement!

We operate annualised hours, therefore previous experience of managing these operationally would be advantageous.

Candidates must also have a true and authentic passion for our Glengoyne brand and be able to help translate brand values and ethos throughout all aspects of the operational world.

Glengoyne is located North of Glasgow on the A81 at Dumgoyne, and as a result of the location, applicants must live within commuting distance to the distillery and have access to their own transport. JOB PURPOSE
Here at National Trust for Scotland’s INVEREWE GARDEN and CORRIESHALLOCH GORGE in the idyllic North West Scottish Highlands we are looking for energetic, cheerful, and talkative individuals to join our amazing welcome team this summer. No previous experience is needed, we would just love to hear from people who can interact and chat with our guests and make them feel welcomed and valued from the minute they arrive until we wish them farewell. This role is vital in providing an amazing welcome in all areas of these two stunning locations, helping our visitors have a fantastic experience and create wonderful memories for our guests. Based in the Welcome Centre, Retail, Catering or initial welcoming areas, your role is to make a great day out truly exceptional for our guests. You’ll help us maximise all charity income opportunities through excellent customer service, product knowledge and taking a pride in everything we do at Inverewe and Corrieshalloch.

Accommodation is available at Inverewe for seasonal vacancies. Poolewe is the nearest village and a great base for all sorts of outdoor pursuits and days off can be spent exploring this wonderful part of Scotland. We will also share our local knowledge of beaches, special hills and some amazing wild swimming spots!

Working at either site will be required on a rota basis.

JOB PURPOSE
This role enables the delivery of high priority projects which, together, deliver the Seabird and Island Biosecurity actions in NTS’s ‘Plan for Nature’. These projects are the prioritised list of work for which NTS has identified a critical need to conserve its seabirds and garner wider societal support while we do so. The role fills both skill and capacity gaps in our current workforce by providing a flexible mobile team to carry out operational, research and communication work across our seabird places.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
The post-holder will:
• Carry out a list of high priority research, operational work and communications projects to progress NTS’s seabird conservation actions across its seabird sites. These include our work to recover seabirds affected by avian influenza, research to understand how to manage visitor pressure on seabirds, citizen science methods to monitor seabirds, developing new technology to improve biosecurity on seabird islands, and specific work on NTS’s identified priority species: Leach’s storm petrel, Fulmar, Puffin, Razorbill, European storm petrel and Great Skua.
• Present work in clear, accurate, scientifically robust, engaging and timely ways so that conservation evidence can be fast-tracked for use in managing our sites and garnering wider societal support for seabird conservation.
• Liaise frequently with the wider seabird ‘community of interest’ at NTS (The senior seabird officer, nature conservation team, rangers, operations managers, marine policy colleagues, communication and fundraising staff) to share information about your work and capture their input into it.
• Demonstrate the highest standards of welfare for wild seabird populations while collecting data to inform their conservation.
• Work to agreed standard operating procedures while working in island and clifftop environments.

Visiting our Café is an essential part of the visitor experience for those coming to Newhailes House and Gardens the role of the Visitor Service Assistant – Kitchen Assistant is to make it a positive and memorable part of a visitor’s day with us. Our café is a busy operation, and the ideal candidate should be experienced in a high volume, fast paced environment.
You will assist the Head Chef in the day to day management of the kitchen to ensure that all targets are met and that all visitors receive the highest level of visitor experience standards.
You must have full weekend availability, hours will be issued on a rota basis.
We pride ourselves on creating a team work ethic here at Newhailes House so you may be required for additional support with other areas such as serving in the cafe.

 Keeping up to date HACCP, COSHH checklists and temperature sheets.

JOB PURPOSE

As a member of our Visitor Services team your job is to give visitors from across the globe a warm welcome to Perth & Kinross and help generate the income that enables us to care for Branklyn Garden.
You will contribute to the smooth and safe running of operations in our Retail & Admissions area by maintaining excellent standards of service, sharing your knowledge about the garden and the products sold in the gift shop and optimising opportunities to generate income including membership sales.
Visiting the tearoom is an essential part of the visitor experience and the role of the Visitor Services Assistant is to make it a positive and memorable part of a visitor’s day with us. Who We Are Looking For…

We are looking for friendly and charismatic individuals with a positive work attitude, who can use their own initiative and focus on providing exceptional visitor experiences as part of our warm and welcoming team. Our experience offering is varied and our visitors come from all over the world to learn about Glengoyne whisky, so the ability to adapt and build rapport with different groups and communicating effectively is essential (and any multi-lingual skills would be highly desirable, although not essential!).

The role is responsible for the delivery of tours, tastings, events and other visitor focused activities at our Distillery – the full job profile is viewable below. The visitor centre typically operates between 10.00 – 18.00, seven days per week, however, this is dependent on the needs of the business and hours may vary in line with consumer demand, we are therefore looking for individuals who can be flexible in their availability.

Glengoyne is located North of Glasgow on the A81 at Dumgoyne, and it is anticipated that applicants should be within commuting distance of the distillery and ideally with their own transport given the remote location. In addition, given the industry and product we service, to be considered for a role applicants must be aged 18 or over. Candidates must also be able to demonstrate that they currently have the required documents to live and work in the UK.

The Scottish Railway Preservation Society (SRPS) operates SRPS Railtours, the Bo’ness & Kinneil Railway and the Museum of Scottish Railways which together form three of central Scotland’s most popular visitor attractions. The SRPS manages a collection that has been recognised as being of national significance through the Scottish Government Recognition Scheme. Most of the collection is owned by the Scottish Railway Museum Collections Trust and SRPS manages it on their behalf. Visitors to the Bo’ness & Kinneil Railway can see parts of the collection and other rolling stock operating on the railway.

The Society is operated and managed principally by volunteers, but it also relies on a small dedicated team of full and part time support staff. We are looking to recruit a Seasonal Museum Assistant.

Dundee Science Centre is currently looking for outgoing, dynamic, confident, exceptional communicators to join our team to fulfil the key role of Science Communicator in a part-time capacity.

You will be part of a team responsible for the smooth operation of Dundee Science Centre’s programmes and services on a daily basis, supporting the Visitor Experience Leader (VEL). You will support the wider team in science communication and ensure the quality of delivery by team members meets audience expectations and standards. You will be responsible for delivering high quality science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) programmes across all audiences (including schools and community groups), either in-centre or via outreach, all in line with Dundee Science Centre’s key aims and objectives, alongside local and national government initiatives, and priorities.

You will be an advocate for Inclusion & Diversity, contributing to the development of DSC’s widening access strategies creating a culture of inclusion for our team and audiences.

The successful candidates will have a positive, resourceful, and confident nature with the ability to work independently and play a key role across the organisation. In-depth STEM knowledge is a desirable trait in this role, however having a confident and charismatic nature would be more advantageous. An understanding of science can be enhanced with on-the-job training; but an ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences is essential.

As a Museum Assistant, you will play an important part of the museum’s front-of-house team. The customer service provided by you directly impacts on the quality of the cultural offer and reputation of the museum, and our town, nationally and internationally.

Your role is to ensure that every visitor receives a warm and friendly welcome and a brief introduction to the museum. As a Museum Assistant you are expected to encourage visitors to enjoy their museum experience, purchase shop products, and offer information about other visitor attractions and services in Dunfermline. You will be asked to maintain the safety of the collections and of the visitors by ensuring that our Security and Health & Safety policies are followed. You will also be expected to undertake some additional tasks, including basic admin, tidying and cleaning.

The Museum operates on a rota system, and frequent weekend working is required. During the tourism high season there may be restrictions on the periods during which leave can be taken. The Museum is closed between December – February each year for maintenance. Museum Assistants will not be working during those months.
